Reverse appliqué mola panels worked in three layers of red, orange, and black cotton, each featuring a large stylized peacock rendered in bold outline against a crimson ground, the distinctive throat body filled with a repeating wave motif in blue and purple, the body interior densely worked with multicolored vertical stripes. Surrounding field enriched with appliquéd corner cartouches in stepped geometric and Provenance: From the Parker & Neal Collection scroll forms, scattered embroidered chevrons, and multicolored bar and stripe elements throughout. Techniques include reverse appliqué, appliqué, and embroidery. Applied to a full adult blouse constructed with bright blue commercial medallion-print cotton body fabric, red ric-rac trim at the yoke, black sleeve bands, and teal border at the hem.
