Description
Antique c1870 Checkerboard Quilt measuring 78 by 92 inches. It is comprised of 356 4 inch squares, set on point, with half square setting triangles. There is a 5.5 inch half square triangle border along 2 sides. It is hand pieced and hand quilted. Thin cotton batting and an off white cotton reverse. The edge is finished with an applied white with orange print binding. Fabrics include madder prints, light blue prints, cheddar prints, a red solid, and more. In 2 solid red squares along one side are 3 initials along with 2 initials and the number 21.
