Description
Vintage c1950 Baltimore Album Quilt 1 measuring about 92×92″. This quilt was made by Genevieve Odom of Fayette County, PA. Medallion style with a 31″ square openwork basket, flowers and Bible with dove and a wreath of flowers in the center. There are 4 baskets with flowers along the sides, 31×16″ and wreathes of flowers and a pair of birds in each corner, 16×16″. The outer border is comprised of 20 16×16″ blocks or flowers, cornucopias, birds, wreaths, vases, and more. It is hand pieced, hand appliqued, and hand quilted. Thin cotton batting and an off white cotton reverse. The edge is finished with an applied solid green binding. There is an appraisal with the quilt from 2009 to be used for documentation and provenance purposes.
