Description
Antique c1870 Double Irish Chain Quilt measuring 67 by 76 inches. Comprised of 90 blocks, 7.5 by 7.5 inches, set straight, 9 by 10, with 4525 squares in double pink print early purple print and over dyed green print and alternating overdyed green snowball block with double pink print corners. It is hand pieced and hand quilted. Thick cotton batting and a wonderful large scale Indienne fantasy floral brown and red print reverse. The edge is finished with the back brought to the front, by machine. Very bold and graphic color choices and a great example of a fugitive purple print and what happens when exposed to sunlight.
Condition report:
It is in good condition, with some spots, the purple dye is going fugitive interning brown, some fading issues in the overdyed green, and a few small areas of wear. In house Flat Rate Shipping of $30 is a domestic shipping estimate for first lot and includes insurance. We will gladly combine multiple lots for your convenience and economy.
