Description
Antique 1842 Figured and Fancy Coverlet – signed along the bottom border “1842-1842 Wove by JS For H Aitkin”. It measures 79 by 93 inches. Off white ground with red and shades of blue wool. 9 medallions with scrolls, leaves, stars and other geometric motifs fill the field. There is a double border of an undulating vine with leaves and berries, and the bottom corners feature 4 squares with birds under a branch. There is a seam down the center, hand stitched. Colorful fringe along 2 sides, the top and bottom edges are raw.
Condition report:
In good condition with spots and discolorations. In house Flat Rate Shipping of $35 is a domestic shipping estimate for first lot and includes insurance.
