Description
Antique c1910 Wool Sample Tied Comfort Quilt measuring 67 by 87 inches. It is comprised of 130 wool fabric samples, 5 by 8.5 inches, set straight, 13 by 10. They are hand pieced onto a foundation with Turkey track embroidery stitches in red and white thread. There is no batting, and a wool blanket reverse. It is tied in the center of each rectangle with a red Perl cotton thread, and in the corners and white Perl cotton thread. The edge is finished with the back brought to the front and applied by hand in basting stitches. Each sample appears to be unique with many stripes, gabardine, houndstooth, and other wool fabrics appropriate for men’s suiting.
Condition report:
It is in fair condition with several small holes and the edge is lifting up. In house Flat Rate Shipping of $30 is a domestic shipping estimate for first lot and includes insurance.
