Description
Vintage c 1950 Crib Quilt with a Circus theme, unable to find it documented online. It measures 45 by 65 inches. In the center is a young girl and a young boy, dressed is a cowboy riding to merry-go-round horses. It is surrounded by a pig eating corn, ducks, chickens, and a poodle with an umbrella on a platform. The corners each feature circus themes with clowns, a tent, and a monkey. It is hand appliquéd, hand embroidered, and hand quilted. Thin cotton batting and a white cotton reverse. The edge is finished with an applied green binding. This is a unique design one I have not seen before. In the workmanship is excellent.
Condition report:
It is in poor condition with several spots and discolorations, edge wear, possible yellow marker along the bottom, and a clowns trapunto knows is splitting.
