Description
Assortment of Vintage Linen Napkins and Handkerchiefs. There are 12 sets included in the lot and several ungrouped pieces as well which are a mixture of linen, cotton, and polyester. There is a set of 9 plain white linen napkins with hemstitching. There is a set of 6 handkerchiefs with a taupe scalloped edge and tulip embroidery at one edge with cutwork. Aside from a few spots, they are in good condition. 7 white linen napkins are featured with a lightly scalloped edge and embroidery. The embroidery features hearts, flowers, and stems. There is some faint spotting on a few pieces. A set of 2 handkerchiefs highlights a scalloped edge alongside an embroidered flower with small cutwork. There are noticeable stains on the pieces. With a lace edge is a set of 6 linen handkerchiefs with a flower embroidered with white thread on one corner. There is some spotting on a few pieces. 2 lace pieces are included as a set with flowers and other carving motifs. Both pieces are in good condition. 2 handkerchiefs and a napkin makes up a set which has a white linen base and a crochet lace edge. The edges are defined with a sun-like pattern on two edges. There is some toning and discoloration that is present. There is a set of 3 white linen handkerchiefs with small flowers embroidered on one edge. The pieces are scalloped and there are a few small spots. 2 napkins are in a set with cutwork in one corner and a stitched edge. Geometric motifs are included. 4 unbleached linen napkins are featured and each has significant cutwork and scalloped edges. They are in good condition with some toning. A set of 6 unbleached handkerchiefs are included which has some toning and features a diamond and square cutwork along one corner. The last set has 4 handkerchiefs that are hemstitched and feature cutwork along one corner. There is a flower embroidered above the cutwork. There is a singular piece made by Lady Heritage which has floral appliques, is made from polyester and cotton, and it is in good condition. There are several singular pieces with decorative edges and a few others with damask or embroidery. Most of the pieces included in this lot are in good/fair condition. Needle lace, hand embroidery, and drawn work are featured. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
