Description
A collection of eighteen (18) vintage costume pins and brooches, predominantly crafted from gold-toned, silver-toned, and bronze-toned base metal. The pieces feature numerous small clear, green, blue, and red faceted rhinestones in various shapes (round, square, oval), alongside white simulated pearls, blue cabochons (likely glass or resin), and various enamel accents in black, purple, orange, red, and blue. Designs are diverse, including novelty animal motifs such as abstract and realistic cats, turtles, owls, chicks, birds, and a panther. The collection also features a banjo-shaped brooch and a scooter charm. Several pieces bear visible hallmarks or maker’s marks on the reverse, including ‘MMA 1985’, ‘HOLY SPIRIT,’ FANTASTICATS by Laurel Birch indicating their origin as signed costume jewelry from the late 1980s and early 1990s.
