Description
This collection comprises approximately 19 costume jewelry brooches, predominantly featuring animal and insect motifs. The pieces are crafted from various base metals with enamel, glass, resin, rhinestones, and imitation stones. The assorted designs include multiple butterflies, one with multi-colored enamel, one with numerous cabochon stones, and another with clear rhinestones. A reclining tiger with green eyes on a red cushion is marked “Bob Mackie” on the reverse. The collection also includes two roosters with red enamel, a long green and red enameled frog, and a large gold-tone spider or scarab beetle with a blue cabochon. A white iridescent swan with a gold-tone wing is marked “AVON” on the reverse. Further pieces include two small standing horse figures, a poodle brooch marked “GLEN,” a Cinderella-style carriage brooch with dangling charms, a ladybug brooch adorned with multiple cabochons, and three small stud pins with stone accents. A notable piece is a gold-tone shamrock brooch featuring a green cabochon, which retains its original tag identifying it as “J.C. Walsh & Sons Ltd., Rathfarnham Village, Dublin 14, Ireland,” and clearly displaying “Ireland” in gold script. One large butterfly brooch also bears a stylized “W” or similar mark.
