Ric Rac Sunflower Quilt was finished on the 4 year anniversary of Ellen’s mother passing. Growing up, they had planted a tree in the backyard. The center is a reproduction of a quilt posted online by Woodard weave with the following information: Pictured in Quilters Newsletter, May 1987. Rare applique quilt. “Tree with Hearts and Sunbursts and Floral Vine” border. Made by Ellen Brown, Forks Township Sullivan County, September 28, 1866, Pa. The original was possibly a marriage quilt. It measures 61×71″. It is machine pieced, hand and machine appliqued, and machine quilted. The quilt is in excellent condition with excellent workmanship. The quilt is signed and dated by Ellen Rosenbach on the reverse, as well as a label on the reverse. Please see the About This Auction for her story!
