Description
Tentatively Grandma Kapp’s Quilt, this quilt was inspired by the original now owned by Audrey Clark who has researched her original quilt which was passed on to her with other Kapp Family Quilts by a direct descendant. The Kapp family was from St Joseph, Missouri, settling in 1837. Ellen is calling it “Tentatively Grandma Kapp’s Quilt” because she wasn’t sure of its lineage at the time of its making. Ellen saw the picture of the original posted on a quilt history research page on a popular social media site. She altered the original rainbow swags and added a cable border. It’s a very cheerful and vibrant quilt. Ellen has her initials ER applied to the center. It measures 73×81″ and is a masterpiece! It is machine pieced, machine appliqued, hand embroidered, and machine quilted. Ellen used her Applipops too create the different sized circle appliques. The quilt is in excellent condition with excellent workmanship. The quilt is signed and dated 2024 by Ellen Rosenbach on the reverse. On the reverse is also appliqued 2024 PB FL (Palm Beach Florida).
