Description
Ralph Lauren Pieced Triangles Quilt measuring 65 x 81″ and constructed with a variety of Ralph Lauren solid, floral and paisley fabric pieced triangles. Ellen notes, “The Ralph Lauren Men’s Shop was going out of business and I bought a large sealed box with mystery contents. Inside were scraps of his cottons, suedes and leathers, even a velvet. what a find! all the blocks are pieced triangles. I was working out how to make a quilt.” It is machine pieced, machine quilted, with a half square triangle on both the front and the reverse, the reverse is a cream sateen fabric with small random dots, and a wool blanket was used as the batting. It is believed that this quilt was completed in the mid- to late 1990s. The quilt is in good condition with primitive workmanship. Please see the About This Auction for her story!
