Early 20th Century Meiji Period Scrimshaw Brooch. The lot includes a 1.10” x 1.24” early 20th century Meiji period brooch made for export featuring a .65” x .84” rectangular bone slab with a hand colored scrimshaw image of a young child sitting by a tree set in a gold tone (possibly brass) filigree frame and a hinged bar closure and a locking C clasp closure The brooch is in good/fair condition with fading to the once colorful image. In house Flat Rate Shipping of $15 is a domestic shipping estimate for first lot and includes insurance. We will gladly combine multiple lots for your convenience and economy.
