Description
Antique 1896 Scherenschnitte Quilt measuring 78 by 84 inches. It is comprised of 4 blocks, 33.5 by 33.5 inches, set straight, 2 x 2, with 6 inch solid white vertical borders and 9.5 inch wide white horizontal borders. It is hand pieced, hand appliquéd, hand reverse appliquéd, hand quilted, and there is a hand embroidered 1896 date in red thread on the bottom left corner. There is thin cotton batting and an off white cotton reverse. The edge is finished with the front brought to the back. It is in fair condition with overall toning, large water marks, edge wear, and the Turkey red solid fabric is starting to wear. In house Flat Rate Shipping of $30 is a domestic shipping estimate for first lot and includes insurance. We will gladly combine multiple lots for your convenience and economy.
