Description
Assortment of 15 Vintage Scarves. The lot consists of 15 printed vintage scarves. Featured are 15 printed vintage scarves that showcase various figural depictions on varying colored backgrounds. The scarves come in cotton, silk, rayon, and other fabric while horses, pre colonial Peruvian motifs, paisleys, flowers, cityscapes, and more are depicted. Designers featured are Kenneth Jay Lane, Vera, Baar and Beards Inc., The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Gamaseta, and Silvania Prints. The pre colonial print from silvania Prints showcases bands of humanoid figures with alpacas. There are bands of pink and red with a burgundy thick hem. The bands alternate between featuring a human with an alpaca to having a human with two buckets in their hands and a scarf around their neck. Featured as well is a cityscape by Baar and Beards Inc. made from silk in Occupied Japan. The houses are multi level with them being in white with roofs of varying colors. The houses are a bit clustered together but serve as a conversational piece. The lot is generally in good condition with some small spots present on a few pieces.
