Description
Antique c1880 Basket Quilt measuring 74 by 86 inches. It is comprised of 72 basket blocks, 7 by 7 inches, set on point, 8 by 9, with brown stripe print alternating squares and setting triangles. It is hand pieced, hand appliquéd, and hand quilted. There is thin cotton batting and an off white linen reverse. The edge is finished with an applied brown stripe print binding. It is in good condition with some toning, and dark spots. Some of the brown prints may have been early purple. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
