Description
Vintage Bicentennial Quilt – Hand Embroidered with an Eagle, American Flag, and God Bless America in the center, additional flags above, and at the center of the borders, stars in the corners, and 1776 and 1976 off to the sides. below. It measures 83 by 99 inches. It is hand embroidered, machine pieced, and hand quilted. There is a 1.25 inch solid red inner border and a 1.5 inch solid blue outer border. There is a polyester batting and a blue rose print on white reverse. The edge is finished with a blue bias tape binding, with rounded corners at the bottom. There is a sleeve on the back for hanging. It is in good condition with just a few small marks. This quilt was published, page 9, in “Quilts Presidential and Patriotic” by Sue Reich, noted author, historian, and quilt appraiser.
