Description
Antique French silk fan with a fontange-shaped leaf, hand-painted silk organza applique, mesh insets and heavy metallic spangle embellishments which create borders and medallions. The guards and ribs are crafted from painted, carved bone with gold painted accents and unique thinly sliced horn “Windows” with hand carved and painted accents. One guard is missing a horn inset. The fan includes a gold-toned loop with a mother of pearl rivet and is signed Bayard. The fan measures 10 1/2 in x 10 1/2 in. It is in fair condition with a few loose spangles, and several vertical splits to the organza overlay areas. Please see the photos for details. If you have any questions, please ask before bidding. In house Flat Rate Shipping of $15 is a domestic shipping estimate for first lot and includes insurance. We will gladly combine multiple lots for your convenience and economy.
