Description
Antique c1900 Wheel of Fortune Quilt measuring 74 by 78 inches. It is comprised of 16 blocks, 18 by 18 inches, set straight, 4 by 4, with a 2 inch red solid border on the top and bottom. It is hand pieced, hand appliquéd, hand embroidered. There appears to be no batting. There is a pink and black plaid flannel reverse. The edge is finished knife edge style by hand. The quilt is extremely graphic using bold colors against a black ground giving it a very Victorian Era feel. Adding to the Victorian Era aesthetic are the hand embroidered seams. Every seam is hand embroidered from small turkey tracks in the wheels to elaborate vines in the block seams. Fabrics include mostly wools, with some velvet, satin, and cotton. It is in good condition with just a few fabrics starting to deteriorate and minor edge wear. In house Flat Rate Shipping of $30 is a domestic shipping estimate for first lot and includes insurance.
