Description
Antique c1850 Old Italian Block Quilt measuring 79 by 88 inches. It is comprised of 90 blocks, 7 by 7 inches, set straight, 9 by 10, with 1.25 inch white sashing, and print cornerstones. There is a 3 inch sawtooth border of off white and Turkey red print. It is hand pieced, and hand quilted. There is thin cotton batting and an off white cotton reverse. I believe the edge has been replaced, it is a white bias tape. It is in fair condition with some fabric deterioration, spots, and toning. There is a small hand embroidered name in petit point stitches close to the center, possibly Maria, Mavis, or Maven. Minor conservation effort has been noted. In house Flat Rate Shipping of $30 is a domestic shipping estimate for first lot and includes insurance. We will gladly combine multiple lots for your convenience and economy.
