Description
2 Vintage c1940 Butterfly Quilts. Quilt with brown floral print border measures 75×92″. Comprised of 20 blocks, 17×17″, set straight 4 by 5, with A 2 inch brown print inner border and a 3 inch white outer border. It is machine pieced, hand appliquéd, hand embroidered, and hand quilted. There is thin cotton batting and a white cotton reverse the edge is finished with an applied brown print binding. It is in fair condition with several spots, wear to brwon print fabric border along the top, and edge wear. Along with c 1940s butterfly quilts measuring 68 by 80 inches. It is comprised of 30 butterfly blocks, 10 by 10 inches, set straight, 5 by 6, with 1.5 inch yellow sashing and 3 inch yellow border. It is machine pieced, hand appliquéd, hand embroidered, and hand quilted. There is thin cotton batting and a solid green reverse. The edge is finished with the back brought to the front and applied by hand. It is in good condition with a few small spots.
