Description
Antique c1890 Victorian Crazy Quilt measuring 55″x65″. It is comprised of 30 blocks, 9″x9″, set straight, with a 5″ black satin border. There is thick cotton batting and an Asian inspired cotton print on the reverse. It is hand and machine pieced, hand embroidered, hand painted, and hand appliqued. It is hand tied at each block intersection with a black silk ribbon bow. The initials JMK are elaborately embroidered in the center. Other motifs include flowers, leaves, butterflies, geometric motifs. Every fabric is hand embroidered with a variety of stitches used. The four corners are pieced fans and elaborately embroidered. It is possible that the border and backing are newer additions. It is in good condition with approximately six fabrics showing deterioration. In house Flat Rate Shipping of $30 is a domestic shipping estimate for first lot and includes insurance. We will gladly combine multiple lots for your convenience and economy.
