Description
Antique c1880 Railroad Quilt measuring 78 by 90 inches. It is comprised of 42 blocks, 9.5 by 9.5 inches, set straight, 6 by 7, with 21 railroad blocks and 21 alternating brown print squares. There is a 2.5 inch orange print inner border and a 7.5 inch brown print outer border. It is hand pieced and hand quilted. There is thin cotton batting and a brown stripe reverse. The edge is finished with an applied blue print binding. It is in poor condition with several areas having large spots and fading. This Quilt was part of the Judy Roche Estate. The proceeds for the sale of this quilt will benefit the American Quilt Study Group 2025 annual seminar in Portland Maine this year.
