Description
Vintage Ecclesiastical Needlepoint – Cope, possibly French. 53″ long from the back of the neck to the bottom hem. The hood or shield in the back is completely gros point needlepoint in wool, with gold and red fringe, and comes to the front, closing with a gold toned brooch with chain. The cloak is an ivory textured silk, lined in red silk, and edged in a gold brocade trim. Needlepoint also adorns the front opening on both sides, down the length of the cloak, 10.5″ wide, and edge in red and gold piping. It is in good condition with some discolorations and small spots. Excellent workmanship and quality materials, this is a very heavy vestment. If you have any doubt, please ask questions!
