Description
Antique Appliqued and Embroidered Damask Border Panels in 2 pieces: 10.5×84″ and 10.5×120″. There is so much going in these panels. Appears to be a silk damask with appliqued silk faille and green velvet vignettes, outlined in a gold metallic twist gimp trim, and other gold trim along the long sides. It is also hand embroidered. Seam attaching 2 pieces is by machine, otherwise all other work was by hand. There is no backing. In fair condition with fading, wear to velvet pile, and some splits in the silk damask. Possibly Spanish in origin, on the back is the word “Colgadura” or Drapery. If you have any doubt, please ask questions!
