Description
Late 19th Century Bodice and Morning Wrapper Top. The pairing includes 1 late 19th century bodice and 1 morning blouse. The bodice features fine pleated silk base with a tape lace overlay faux jacket in a Battenburg lace style in floral patterns with silk ruffles along the cuffs, elbows, and front sides with a pleated silk waist. It is lined in chintz, has several stays, an inner waistband, and hooks for securing a skirt. Laying flat it measures: bust 18”, waist 13.5”, sleeves 23”. It is in fair condition with toning throughout, a few spots, wear to the waist, and the silk is very delicate. Also included is 1, 19th century morning blouse featuring an outer shell made of fine thin light yellow wool with a high collar and long sleeves with lace trim at the cuffs and collar. It has pick up detailing at the top and shoulders with a pleated loose fitting A-line shape profile for the body of the top creating a more relaxed, at home feel. The inner bodice is made of white fine cotton with no stays and hook and eye closures at the front, the sleeves are also lined in cotton. Laying flat it measures: bust 16”, waist 13”, sleeves 23”. It is in fair condition with small holes throughout the wool outer shell and light toning. If you have any doubt, please ask questions!
