Description
Antique c1890 Spider Web Quilt measuring 68 x 71 inches. It is comprised of 46 blocks, 10 x 8.5″, set straight, and staggered, 4 by 7. There are partial blocks along the top and bottom, and black and white gingham setting triangles along the sides. There is a 3.5″ red print inner border and a 2.5″ double blue outer border. It is machine pieced and hand quilted. There is thin cotton batting and a red print reverse. The edge is finished with the back brought to the front and applied by machine. It is in good condition with one small hole in a border and minor edge wear. From the estate of Sharon Stark, noted Pennsylvania textile dealer and award winning author.
