Description
Vintage c1930 Courthouse Steps Quilt Top with a Strippy or Bars Back quilt back. Both measure about 80×80″. The Courthouse Steps top is comprised of 36 Blocks, 6.5×6.5″, set straight but staggered, 6 by 6, with 5.5″ horizontal green print sashing and vertical bar sashing. It is hand pieced. Condition is fair with large areas of discoloration. I believe the blocks are c1880, with the top completed in the 1930s. Along with a Strippy of Bars Back backing or quilt top. Comprised of alternating bars of green and yellow print fabrics, 8 inches wide, with a woven plaid about 3 inches wide on 2 sides. It is machine pieced. And in good condition with only minor discoloration. From the Estate of Sharon Stark. If you have any doubt, please ask questions!
