Description
Antique c1890 Ocean Waves Quilt possibly finished within the past 20 years. It measures 65×79″. It is comprised of 32 double pink squares, 5.5 x 5.5 inches, set on point, and staggered, 4 by 5. Each square is surrounded by an Ocean Waves lozenge about 5.5 x 11 inches. Double pink print triangles are used along the edges to set the quilt. It is hand pieced, and hand quilted. There is thin cotton batting and an off white cotton reverse. The edge is finished with the back with the front brought to the back and a facing applied. It is in good condition with a few small spots. There are many vibrant purples there are many purple fabrics that are still vibrant and have not gone fugitive.
