Description
Antique c1880 Rose of Sharon Quilt measuring 72 x 73 inches. It is comprised apprised of 20 blocks, 14.5 by 14.5 inches, set straight, 5 by 4. There is a 7 inch border along 2 sides with appliqué stem and leaves. It is machine pieced, hand appliquéd, hand quilted. There is a thin cotton batting and an off white cotton reverse. The original binding has been replaced with a red bias tape binding. It is in fair condition with some overall toning and several small spots. From a Wisconsin Collector.
