Description
c1940s Feedsack Trip Around the World Quilt measuring 72 x 71 inches. It is comprised of 2.75 inch squares of mostly feedsack prints, set on point, in a 59 by 58 inch center field. There is a 1.5 inch shirting inner border, and a 5″ feedsack outer border. It is machine pieced and hand quilted. Thin cotton batting and a feedsack print reverse. The edge is finished with the front brought to the back and applied by hand. It is in good condition with small spots, fading in the center fold, and the marking lines for quilting is evident in the border. This quilt is part of the Estate of widely respected Sharon Stark of Sharon’s Antiques Vintage Fabrics and Textiles of Eastern PA. She was an author and long time collector and dealer of antique quilts, fabrics and textiles. Sharon was THE authority on Feedsacks, and you may remember her Rickrack website.
