Group of 4 Antique 19th Century Textile Swatch Book-Silks and more. Antique textile swatchbooks are self-assembled group includes approximately 586 antique fabric samples in a mix of silk jacquards, brocades, textured fabrics, and more. One book is marked 1890 Leno Silk Jacquards, Geometrics, Florals and Stripes. Another book is marked 1890 French Silk Jacquards, leno, florals, plaids, stripes, and geometrics. There are 2 complete books and 2 partial books and they are in fair condition with the tape holding their bindings together becoming stiff and brittle. The fabrics are in good condition with some spots and discolorations. This fabric sample collection was the property from a well known NYC textile and garment design archive which provided design and concept inspiration to fashion and textile designers around the world for more than 25 years.
