Description
Antique c1890s Strippy Bars Quilt measuring 78 by 90 inches. Comprised of 32 2.25″ wide bars, alternating double green print and double pink print. It is hand pieced and hand quilted. There is a thin cotton batting and a strippy bars reverse in a brown print and mourning print. The edge is finished with the back brought to the front and applied by hand. It is in good condition with minor fading to the front and fading and a few period repairs to the reverse. This quilt is part of the Estate of widely respected Sharon Stark of Sharon’s Antiques Vintage Fabrics and Textiles of Eastern PA. She was an author and long time collector and dealer of antique quilts, fabrics and textiles. Sharon was THE authority on Feedsacks, and you may remember her Rickrack website.
