Description
Antique 19th Century Woven Figured and Fancy Coverlet in red, blue, and off white measuring 72×86″. Double weave. There is a repeated Liberty pattern with a bird in a tree over an Eagle. The border features a repeated flower motif, and George Washington (Gen Washington) is in each corner. There is fringe on 3 sides, no center seam. It is in fair condition with some loss and period repairs, toning, small spots, and fringe loss. This pattern is on a fragment in the collection of the American History Museum and is in A Book of Hand Woven Coverlets. From a NY Collector. If you have any doubt, please ask questions!
