Description
Antique c1870 Flying Geese Quilt Measuring 72x 86 inches. It is comprised of 20 flying geese blocks, 12 by 12 inches, set straight, 4 by 5. There is a 4″ brown print sashing and a 7.5″ brown print border. It is hand pieced and hand quilted. Thin cotton batting with a strippy pieced bars back reverse with 2 stripe fabrics. The edge is finished knife edge style, by hand. It is in good condition with some fading, several spots, small tear in a corner. This quilt is from the estate of Sharon Stark, noted Pennsylvania textile dealer and award winning author.
