Group of 2 matched sets molas with hand reverse appliqué and appliqué, 3 layers.
Panama (Guna Yala), circa 1960s, 13 x 19 inches (each panel)
A matched pair of red-ground molas presenting an allover diagonal maze composition in turquoise and orange, the interlocking Greek-key and scroll forms covering the entire field without interruption or border. The two panels are closely matched in composition and color, indicating they were made as a coordinated blouse pair, as was traditional Guna practice.

A matched pair of orange-ground molas, each presenting six square panels arranged in two registers of three, each panel containing a deeply recessed concentric square spiral in purple blue and pink with prominent zigzag serrated edges separating each color band. This type of pure geometric scroll pattern, executed without figurative or textual content, represents one of the most formally rigorous and visually compelling traditions in Guna mola design, with the serrated zigzag edges adding a dynamic tension to each concentric layer.
