Description
A group of three hand reverse appliqué and appliqué mola panels, each worked in two to three layers.
Panama (Guna Yala), circa 1950s, 14.5 x 18 inches
A three layer mola featuring a dense allover chevron and zigzag composition in black, orange, and lavender. The radiating zigzag pattern, built on precise bilateral symmetry, is among the most traditional Guna abstract forms and creates a striking optical effect across the full panel.
Panama (Guna Yala), circa 1950s, 12 x 17 inches
A mola with a fully filled curvilinear design worked in two layers of red and black, incorporating flowing organic forms, spirals, and rectangular key motifs. The dense, interlocking biomorphic composition reflects an older Guna design tradition in which abstract forms fill the entire surface without open space.
Panama (Guna Yala), circa 1960s, 15.5 x 18 inches
A three layaer mola on a red ground with black geometric abstract forms accented by multicolored embroidered fills in blue, pink, purple, and green, with a sawtooth appliqué border. The vertical elongated forms with zigzag interior channels and individually colored accent shapes demonstrate the Guna practice of combining reverse appliqué with targeted embroidery for visual emphasis.

Condition report:
All 3 molas display wear, fading, and spots or discoloration. Small holes and loose applique can be found as well. In house Flat Rate US Shipping of $15 for 1 -10 molas, $5 each additional 10 molas. Insurance is additional and required.
