Panama (Guna Yala), circa 1960s

(1) Guna Mola features two large mirrored biomorphic lobed forms, each containing compartmented sections with polychrome appliqué inserts in sawtooth-edged frames, worked in three layers of red, pink, and orange cotton with appliqué accents in blue, turquoise, green, yellow, and white. Bilateral symmetry with curvilinear cutwork and linear fill stitching along borders.

(2) Guna abstract mola features two mirrored abstract organic forms with curving lobes enclosing compartmented sections with polychrome sawtooth-edged appliqué inserts, worked in three layers of red, dark charcoal, and orange cotton with appliqué accents in blue, turquoise, green, yellow, and pink. Dense composition with linear fill stitching along upper and lower borders.

Condition report:
Wear, spots, heavy discoloration on larger mola. In house Flat Rate US Shipping of $15 for 1 -10 molas, $5 each additional 10 molas. Insurance is additional and required.
