Panama (Guna Yala), circa 1950s

(1) Guna Bird Maze mola features stylized animal figures concealed within an allover maze motif, worked in two layers of deep red and pink cotton with decorative appliqué border including sawtooth trim, blue and charcoal bands, and yellow rickrack. Dense, fully filled composition with interlocking curvilinear and angular cutwork throughout.

(2) Guna Animal Maze mola features mirrored animal figures embedded within a maze motif, worked in two layers of crimson red and yellow-gold cotton. Fully saturated composition with bilateral symmetry and dense curvilinear cutwork with linear fill throughout.

Condition report:
Fading, discoloration, and 2 holes in yellow/red animal mola. In house Flat Rate US Shipping of $15 for 1 -10 molas, $5 each additional 10 molas. Insurance is additional and required.
