Reverse appliqué and appliqué mola panel with hand embroidery, featuring two large caimans positioned in the upper section with their distinctive elongated bodies forming maze-like patterns. Each caiman displays characteristic features including prominent circular eyes, elongated snouts with visible teeth represented by the white zigzag elements, and segmented bodies that create intricate labyrinthine forms. The center is anchored by circular star medallions with radiating spokes in multiple colors, flanked by smaller geometric elements. The design demonstrates exceptional technical control in rendering the complex caiman forms while maintaining clear symbolic representation of these important spiritual animals in Guna cosmology. Worked in three layers of cotton in brown, orange, and black, and multiple accent colors including blue, purple, orange, and green, with meticulous hand-stitching throughout the intricate caiman bodies and detailed facial features. The decorative zigzag border frames the composition.
