Description

Featured is the wedding attire of Florence Mae Kunkle when she married William George Rauch on December 24, 1929. A wedding dress, cap, and shoes are included alongside a printed photo of the bride and groom. The wedding gown is white and sleeveless. Made from silk and it has lace on the skirt. There are snap buttons on the side of the gown and a bundle of flowers that are made from the same silk fabric as the torso of the dress. The dress has a drop waist and scalloping before the lace section of the skirt. The hem of the gown is scalloped as well with a border with white silk fabric. A wool cap is included with a white netting on the inside. There is a pair of white heels with an art deco stylized buckle. The inside of one shoe says Narrow Heel High Arch. They are white leather T-strap Mary Jane pumps. There are perspiration marks on the underarms of the dress. Small spots on the cap which also have small tears on the inner lining. The shoes are scuffed and show signs that they were worn several times but not often. The entire outfit is otherwise in wonderful condition for its age as there are only small imperfections.
