Exceptional narrative reverse appliqué, appliqué, and embroidery mola panel incorporating the Spanish inscription “NAVE AEREA” (airship or aircraft) in multicolor appliquéd letterforms along the central hull — a highly collectible example of Guna engagement with modern technology rendered in traditional textile form. The composition presents a large airship or sailing vessel with a central mast supporting dramatically billowing sails filled with dense concentric multicolor arc and dot applique. Flanking the mast at upper left and right, two circular medallions each enclose a tethered animal — a black quadruped outlined in yellow at left and a dark quadruped outlined in teal at right, each secured by an embroidered orange chain. The curved lower hull is densely lined with rows of multicolor concentric circle cutwork elements. The entire composition is set against a crimson ground animated throughout with dense multicolor embroidered stripe work. Executed in three layers of red, black, and orange cotton with extensive appliqué and embroidery throughout.
