Boldly worked reverse appliqué, appliqué, and embroidery mola panel centering a large frontally displayed dual-tailed serpent creature with dramatically outstretched bifurcated upper forms filled with dense multicolor embroidered stripe work. The creature’s body is covered overall with a field of multicolor spiral and scroll appliqués in varied hues. A finely detailed serpentine mask face with white eye elements and bared teeth occupies the lower central register. Flanking the central figure in the lower field are three attendant creatures: a stylized bird at left and two sinuous serpents — one at right and one below — each outlined in yellow on the black ground. Executed in two layers of black and yellow cotton with extensive multicolor embroidery throughout. Continuous multicolor stripe-filled ground with rickrack border at lower edge.
