Finely worked reverse appliqué, appliqué, and embroidery mola blouse in child size, offered complete and intact in its original wearable form. The front panel features two large confronting long-necked birds rendered in bold black appliqué against a red ground, their elongated necks intertwining at center and their bodies densely filled with vertical comb-like striping in a full spectrum of polychrome colors. Each bird head bears an embroidered eye with concentric dot accents. A frieze of six smaller attendant bird and quadruped figures populates the upper register, while three additional small figures — two quadrupeds and a bird — occupy the lower border, all outlined in contrasting colors. Dense vertical dash-and-stripe embroidery fills the surrounding field throughout. The yoke and gathered puffed sleeves are constructed from a commercially printed cotton fabric with a bold geometric eye-and-square pattern in yellow, pink, and teal; orange and black rick-rack trim separates the yoke from the mola panel. A dark plaid cotton ruffle finishes the hem. Executed in three layers of red, black, and yellow cotton, with extensive polychrome embroidered accents in yellow, orange, pink, green, blue, and purple.
