A striking mola panel worked in two layers of reverse appliqué, appliqué, and embroidery depicting two large concentric spider webs, each with a spider at its hub, flanking a central field occupied by two additional spider figures. The web spiders feature red and yellow bodies with embroidered facial features, antennae, and segmented abdomens, each positioned at the center of radiating multicolored spoke lines extending through concentric rings of sawtooth-edged bands in red, black, yellow, teal, blue, and orange. The two central spiders between the webs are rendered with outstretched legs and spotted or patterned bodies surrounded by scattered teardrop and organic-shaped appliqué elements in varied colors. The double-web composition fills the entire field, the expanding circular forms interlocking across the panel to create a dynamic radial design. Worked on red cotton ground with black layering throughout. Fine hand-stitching throughout with consistent stitch density. Dense, fully filled composition with sophisticated cutwork featuring complex curves in the concentric web rings and sawtooth borders. The symmetrical radial design demonstrates strong compositional control and visual rhythm across the entire panel.
