Description
A collection of 15 vintage novelty handkerchiefs, confirmed to be Cotton. This lot includes two examples signed by the renowned mid-20th century textile designer Tammis Keefe. The collection features a diverse array of whimsical and pictorial designs characteristic of the mid-20th century, including travel motifs with bilingual French and English text, various animals such as kittens, poodles, a Bambi-like deer, and orioles, nautical scenes, antique clocks, abstract patterns, and market-related items. The majority are square, with one triangular example. Several handkerchiefs bear visible markings, including “© PANDA” and “Kimball!! DESIGNED BY PANDA PRINTS,” while
one Italian-made nautical piece is marked “Fabriqué an Italie” (Made in Italy). One handkerchief is explicitly labeled “PURE LINEN” and another “100% COTTON/COTON.”
