Description
First Quilt – Triangles measures 92×92″ and features on point Sawtooth Stars set in Flying Geese in a variety of fabrics: velvet, cotton, wool, polyester, rayon, linen and more. Comprised of all triangles, even the squares in the borders and large square areas are the same fabric in triangles. It is machine pieced and machine quilted. It is interesting to see the very beginning of Ellen’s Quilt Journey and compare it to where she is today. She still uses stars and Flying Geese, and scrappy borders. But her workmanship is not that of an artist, now. All quilters have to start with a “First Quilt”. Ellen has come so far from where she originally began! The quilt is in fair condition with several seams coming undone and fraying. The quilt would have been completed in 1990 or earlier. Please see the About This Auction for her story!
