Description
John Hewson Medallion with Scalloped Edge measures 72×74″. Ellen was inspired by antique John Hewson print quilts and the perfect reproduction print fabric to create this medallion quilt with the urn of flowers in the center with Broderie Perse birds and butterflies. There is a frame of blocks with more birds and outer pieced frames with a variety of 19th century reproduction fabrics. There are butterflies in the top corners and Ellen’s initials in the lower corners, E and R. The edge is finished with Ellen’s signature scallop edge. It is machine pieced, machine appliqued, and machine quilted. The quilt is in excellent condition with excellent workmanship. The quilt is signed and dated 2018 by Ellen Rosenbach on the reverse.
