Description
Vintage Multigenerational Grandmothers Flower Garden with Diamond shaped Rosettes Quilt with most of the top having 1870s fabrics, a few as early as 1845, but finished in the 1970s, with some fabric is the top, backing, batting and hand quilting. It measures 73 by 86 inches. Each hexagon measures about one inch along one side. It is hand pieced and hand quilted. Is a thin polyester batting and a tan poly cotton reverse. The edge is finished with the tan polyester blend fabric applied binding. It is in good condition with a few small spots, and one fabric is starting to wear, most likely because of the polyester batting. I think the 1970s fabric in the top may be a conservation effort with earlier fabrics underneath.
